Holiday guides, gifts and Thanksgiving

Everywhere I turn there are so many great gifts and activities for the kids this year.

Even with the recent recalls of Toys parents are finding new ways to play as well as revisiting some of the long forgotten older methods.

Here are a few holiday guides that might give you inspiration as we head on into December.

I love this holiday season because there are so many opportunities to read and listen to stories.

We’ve just check out a huge pile of books from the local library for this holiday weekend. In the quiet moments while the food is cooking I’ll steal a moment with the kids and read them a story.

Maybe you download a story from Storynory to play in the car on that long journey to Uncle Bob’s house.

Audio stories from Barefoot Books make for a visual and audible treat.

These tales from around the world are perfect for story-time, bedtime, or anytime!

“This delightful collection of tales from around the world includes favorites like “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” (Norwegian) as well as less familiar stories such as “The Blue Coat” (Jewish) and “The Sweetest Song” (African-American). Hugh Lupton’s engaging narrative quickly draws young readers into each story, while Sophie Fatus’s quirky illustrations will have children laughing in their seats, ensuring hours of entertainment.”
