Giving away

With all the best plans there will be an influx of new toys and games if you have children every year around the holidays and around their birthdays.

To avoid being overrun by toys start sorting though your toys now and think about donating. It’s a great skill to develop giving.

Operation Christmas Child

This is the second year we have participated in Operation Christmas Child. The kids have fun packing their box and are excited to know that a little boy will receive the items they picked. We sponsor a World Vision child too and during the next week they’ll be drawing pictures to add to the Christmas gift and sending to her.

What gifts do you give away? Who do you support?

We have done this at home the past 2 years, but now MaxiMad is at school they group together and send ones from the school. They managed to send 167 this year, which is great considering the credit crunch and all that.

That is an impressive amount. It’s so good for the kids to participate in this even one makes a difference. Going to go check out your Naan bread recipe. We’re big fans here!

We normally give toys to local charities, but I like the idea of the shoe box that goes to one child. I am going to have a look into it and see which associations sponsor this in Europe. Thanks for sharing.
