We’ve moved a few times and seem to keep collecting keys. Well I keep collecting keys. I always think it might be important so best to keep it, just in case. So I have a bit of a collection. But if you don’t try asking around. You’d be surprised at how many lonely, lost keys are floating in draws and on key rings.

This play activity is one of the ones you can find if you subscribe to the weekly activities ( Right sidebar). It’s one of those rare combinations of old keys, excitement and nail varnish.

Wind chimes.  They chose this spot for maximum draft from their closet.

Who needs paint when you can use mummy’s nail varnish ?

We had a great time threading, cutting and using nail varnish that afternoon. It was probably the only legitimate time the boys will get to use nail varnish with such care and attention.

It was never about the end product but the journey it took to get there.

Love the key activity, Melitsa! And thanks for mentioning the “journey.” In childhood, it’s almost always the process that matters more than the product! And this activity just goes to prove that parents don’t need to spend a lot of money on “educational” materials. Hand-eye coordination and creativity are just two of the benefits of this activity.

The amount of thinking, questioning and talking that went on in that activity. It was worth every moment to get to talk about all the things we did. The BG said, ” Remember the day we did those keys together. That was cool!” Lasting memories. Thanks for the comment.
