Pinecones display

We collected pinecones on a recent walk.

We found 2 wicker baskets raffia , silver and gold spray paint.

I sprayed some of the pinecones; silver and gold. Some were in their natural state.

Bunched up raffia on the bottom and some leaves- although the leaves broke up really quickly with little fingers and were displayed on the floor!

We added a seed ball from the craft shop.

We plan to add a pomander of clementines with whole cloves. That should smell heavenly.

I love colorful Indian corn in the fall and think that would nice. I have picked up little ones before at a farm stand and used those to decorate with. Gourds would be cute too. You have reminded me that it is time to take down the Halloween decorations and make some new fall ones to put out.

If the kids collect more detritus than is pretty, dump it on the computer scanner. Press scan, then use a graphics package to make the colours more vivid, then print it to use as a back drop to your display.

All those not so pretty finds are valued, used and then can be discretely disposed of, or alternatively paraded with pomp and circumstance to the compost heap.

Lisa: Our Gourd is on the doorstep keeping the 3 mini pumpkins company from the Pick your own fruit trip. I’m going to look out for the corn-might just add another colour to the display.

Bee: Clever idea. It would have worked on the leaves. Perhaps we could try that again but just scan them.

Oh, these are lovely as is! Since you want to add to it… try a few sticks, nuts, holly, evergreen tips, and rocks. The seed pods are amazing! Where did you find them? You’re a clever lady. Good job.
